The short version: we collect only what we need to run study rooms: your account details, who you add as friends or block, and which room you are in. We do not record your video or audio. We do not sell your personal data. Ads on our public pages are served by Google, which uses cookies. Details are below.

1. Who we are

Rakkez is a website where people study together in live video rooms. It is run by Rakkez. For privacy questions you can reach us at helmy22121998@gmail.com. This policy explains what information we handle when you use Rakkez, together with our Terms of Use.

2. What we collect

Information you give us

Account details: email address, username, password and gender. Your password is handled by our login provider (Google Firebase Authentication); we never see it in readable form.
Profile picture: we generate an avatar image from your username using an external avatar service (ui-avatars.com). Your username is part of the image request sent to that service.
Social features: your friend list, friend requests, and the people you block.
Reports and bug reports: reports you make about other users, and any messages you send us through the "Report a Bug" form.
Agreement records: the date and version of the Terms you accepted.

Information created when you use Rakkez

Room activity: which rooms you create or join, room members, room settings, and short "still here" timestamps that show whether you are active in a room.
Connection data: technical messages needed to set up a video connection between participants.
Moderation data: reports made about you, and ban or suspension status.
Technical details: when you send a bug report we also include basic browser and device information. Our hosting and service providers may log IP addresses and similar technical data to keep the service running and secure.

Camera and microphone

Your browser asks for permission before Rakkez can use your camera and microphone. See the video and audio section below.

Cookies and similar storage

Rakkez uses your browser's storage and similar technologies to keep you logged in and to make the site work. Advertising cookies from Google may also be used on public pages. See the advertising section below.

3. How we use your information

To create and run your account and let you log in.
To create rooms, match you with other students, and apply room preferences (for example girls-only or boys-only rooms).
To run friends, blocking, reporting and removal features, and to enforce our Terms.
To detect and prevent abuse, including automatic filtering of explicit video content.
To fix bugs, keep the service secure, and improve it.
To show advertising on public pages and keep the service free.
To meet legal obligations and respond to valid requests from authorities.

Where privacy laws require a legal basis, we rely on providing the service you asked for, our legitimate interests in keeping Rakkez safe and working, legal obligations, and your consent where it is needed (for example for advertising cookies in some regions).

4. Video and audio

When you are in a room, your video and audio are sent to the other people in that room over a direct (peer-to-peer) connection. We do not record, store or listen to your video or audio.
Because of how direct connections work, other participants' devices, and the network servers that help set up the connection, can see technical details such as your IP address.
An automatic filter checks video in your browser to hide explicit content. We do not store the images it checks.
Other participants can see and hear you, and could record you despite our rules. Only turn on your camera where you are comfortable, and use the block and report tools if someone behaves badly.

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in these ways:

Other users: people in your room can see your username, profile picture, video and audio. People you add as friends can see your username.
Service providers: Google (Firebase) for login, database and hosting; network providers that help set up video connections; the avatar service mentioned above; and advertising partners described below. They process data on our behalf or under their own policies.
Legal and safety: if the law requires it, or to protect the safety, rights or property of our users, us or the public.
Business changes: if Rakkez is ever transferred to another owner, your information may move with it, and we would tell you.

6. Advertising and cookies

We use Google AdSense to show advertising on some public pages of Rakkez. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to our website and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to Rakkez and/or other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings.
You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will see a consent message asking you to choose whether advertising cookies may be used, and you can change your choice at any time through that message.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you do, parts of Rakkez (such as staying logged in) may stop working.

7. How long we keep information

Account information is kept until you ask us to delete your account.
Rooms and connection data are temporary and are deleted when a room ends, is empty, or becomes inactive.
Bug reports are deleted automatically after 24 hours, or sooner once they have been read.
Moderation records (such as reports and bans) may be kept for as long as needed to keep the community safe and to prevent banned users from returning.
We may keep some information longer if the law requires it.

8. Your choices and rights

You can turn off your camera and microphone permission at any time in your browser settings, and leave a room whenever you like.
You can block users and manage your friends list in the app.
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, or to delete your account, by emailing helmy22121998@gmail.com.
Depending on where you live (for example in the EU, the UK or Egypt), you may also have rights to object to or restrict certain processing, to receive a copy of your data, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your local data protection authority.

9. Security

We use reputable providers and access rules to protect your data, and logins are protected by Firebase Authentication. No online service is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password and never share it.

10. Age limit and children

Rakkez is for people who are 18 or older. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

11. International transfers

Our providers, including Google, may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. If a change is important, we will tell you on the site or ask you to accept the updated terms again.
